About Moonlit Grid
Moonlit Grid is a calm city-building game set at night, in which the player places hex tiles one at a time and rotates each until its streets, parks and canals line up with its neighbors. It is made by a single indie developer for players who want an unhurried game, with no timer and no pressure. The journey starts in Tokyo, and more cities are described as coming.
Each tile has four kinds of edges, and matching them grows both the city and the score in the endless mode. Shrines, towers, stations and harbors unlock as districts develop. Other features include flying over the finished city as a bird, a Dream City sandbox for decorating with collected items, a Tile Shop where Lumens earned from finished cities buy new styles and decorations, and a Night Radio of lofi and synthwave tracks.
The full game is a download for Windows, macOS and Linux, sold on itch.io for a minimum of $2.99 USD. A shorter free demo runs in the browser at moonlitgrid.com; the maker notes that it is lighter than the full game, plays in landscape and needs a browser with WebGL 2. A Steam release is announced as coming.
