Using UsefulShelf
Last updated
UsefulShelf is operated by Kartik Labhshetwar, based in India. It is a directory that helps people discover useful apps. These terms apply to our website, listing services, free tools, and MCP integration. By creating an account, submitting an app, or purchasing a listing or ad, you agree to these terms.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. For questions about these terms, contact hello@usefulshelf.co.
1. Your account and responsibilities
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement to create an account or buy a listing or ad. If you act for a business or another person, you must have their authority. Keep your Google account and connected applications secure, provide accurate information, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
You are responsible for submissions and actions you authorize through your account, including through an MCP client or AI agent. Review generated drafts before submitting them; AI suggestions can be inaccurate.
2. What a listing includes
An eligible, approved listing gets a public, server-rendered app page with product details, structured data, a category, and a direct website link. Publication depends on the plan:
- Free dofollow: review approval and a verified, visible UsefulShelf badge are required. Install the badge before submitting and keep it visible. The website link is followable.
- Free nofollow: review approval is required, with no badge or payment. The website link uses
rel="nofollow". - Paid dofollow: $9 USD once, with review approval and confirmed payment. The website link is dofollow, with no badge required. This purchases a directory listing, not an advertising slot.
On the homepage and category pages, listings appear in this order: paid dofollow, free badge-verified dofollow, then free nofollow. Within each group, newer published listings appear first. Listings appear once in the directory results, which may span multiple pages. A paid plan does not guarantee a fixed position, a first-page appearance, or a dedicated sponsored slot.
Free dofollow badges are checked again after publication. A missing badge can make a listing private without advance notice. Restore and verify it, choose free nofollow, or upgrade to Paid dofollow to meet the publication requirements. See badge instructions and how our checks work.
The badge wording “Featured on UsefulShelf” is available to all listing plans and does not itself mean paid placement. A Featured pill marks an upgraded listing. It is not a rating or an independent quality endorsement. Directory order reflects listing plans.
We do not promise indexing, rankings, traffic, clicks, sales, authority metrics (including Ahrefs Domain Rating), or recommendations from AI tools. A listing and llms.txt make information available; search engines and other services decide how to use it.
3. Submissions, review, and acceptable use
Only submit a working, public app you are authorized to represent. Its description, images, category, tags, pricing claims, and website must be accurate and must not infringe someone else’s rights. Do not submit secrets or information that should remain confidential.
We use automated checks, including AI classification, to review submissions. Payment never bypasses review. Pending, rejected, and approved listings that have not met their publication requirements stay private. You can view the result and available next steps in My tools or through MCP, and contact us if you believe a decision is wrong.
We do not accept adult or NSFW products, gambling, crypto or web3 products, scams, spam, placeholders, or misleading and low-effort sites. Do not impersonate others, distribute malware, bypass access controls or rate limits, manipulate verification, or disrupt the service. We may reject, restrict, or remove content or accounts for these reasons, rights complaints, security risks, or legal requirements.
4. Your content and third-party services
You retain ownership of the content you submit. You give UsefulShelf a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, reproduce, format, and display that content to operate and promote your listing, including in directory pages, search results, social previews, and machine-readable responses. You confirm that you have the rights needed to grant this permission.
Published information can be read and copied by visitors, search engines, and AI services. Removing a listing from UsefulShelf does not remove copies or caches held by others. Contact us to request a correction or removal.
Listed apps, linked websites, payment services, and connected AI clients have their own terms and privacy practices. You decide whether to use them. A directory listing is not a warranty or endorsement of the app’s safety, accuracy, or suitability.
5. Payments, ads, and refunds
Paid dofollow listings and homepage ads are non-refundable, with no money-back guarantee, except where required by law or Dodo Payments’ buyer terms, or where we cannot deliver the purchased listing or ad.
We do not offer discretionary refunds for a change of mind, accidental purchases, unused ad time, voluntary listing removal, removal for a breach of these terms, or dissatisfaction with traffic, clicks, indexing, rankings, sales, or AI recommendations. You are purchasing the listing or placement described here, not a guaranteed outcome. The exceptions above still apply.
Payments are handled through Dodo Payments. Prices are in USD, with applicable taxes shown at checkout. Paid dofollow is a one-time purchase without automatic renewal. It has no scheduled expiry while UsefulShelf operates and the listing continues to meet these terms; it is not a promise that the service will operate forever.
A homepage ad is a separate $99 purchase for one of three sponsored positions for 30 consecutive days from confirmed activation, with no automatic renewal. It requires a live listing and remains subject to that listing’s eligibility. An ad purchase does not replace a free dofollow badge requirement. Availability and booking status are shown on the advertising page.
Your listing is saved before checkout. If checkout fails or you leave without paying, return to My tools to continue. Do not submit a duplicate listing to retry payment.
For a duplicate charge, a payment problem, a placement that was not delivered, or a refund request, email hello@usefulshelf.co with your account email, listing URL, and payment reference. Never send card details. We review payment errors and non-delivery against this policy, applicable law, and Dodo Payments’ buyer terms. If an ad payment arrives after its position has been allocated elsewhere, the booking is flagged for a refund rather than being shown as active.
Nothing in these terms removes a cancellation, refund, or other consumer right that applies by law. Dodo Payments’ buyer terms and refund decisions also apply.
6. Availability and limitations
We aim to keep UsefulShelf useful and available, but interruptions, errors, and changes can happen. Directory information, AI drafts, and visibility reports may be incomplete or out of date. Check important facts directly with the app provider.
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available, without warranties of uninterrupted operation or fitness for a particular purpose. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or opportunities, arising from use of the service. These limitations do not exclude liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Ending use and changes to these terms
You can stop using UsefulShelf at any time and contact us to request account or listing removal. Signing out does not delete saved submissions or necessarily revoke access already granted to an MCP client. Contact us if you need help ending a connection.
We may update these terms as the service changes. We will publish the revised version with its date and provide notice of material changes affecting accounts or purchases. Changes do not remove rights attached to an existing purchase. If you have a concern or dispute, contact us so we can try to resolve it; your rights under applicable law remain available.
