Better-T-Stack

Better-T-Stack is a command-line tool that scaffolds new end-to-end type-safe TypeScript projects. It is meant for TypeScript developers, teams and coding agents who want a reproducible starting point without adopting a fixed starter template.

The developer chooses the frontend, backend, runtime, database, ORM, API layer, authentication and optional addons, and the CLI generates a monorepo containing only those parts. Frontend options include Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Solid, Astro, React with TanStack Router, React Router or TanStack Start, and React Native. Backend options include Hono, Express, Fastify, Elysia and Convex, with Drizzle, Prisma or Mongoose over SQLite, Postgres, MySQL or MongoDB, tRPC or oRPC for the API, and Better Auth or Clerk for sign-in. Compatibility rules reject combinations that do not work together, and a bts.jsonc file records the choices.

A browser-based stack builder produces the matching command, and coding agents can use JSON commands, a programmatic npm API or a local MCP server. The result is ordinary source code with no required account, subscription or hosted runtime.

Better-T-Stack is free and MIT-licensed, with source on GitHub. It needs Node.js LTS and works with npm, pnpm or bun. Usage telemetry is on by default and can be turned off with the BTS_TELEMETRY_DISABLED or DO_NOT_TRACK environment variable.
